Need help fast! I have interviews at both, but can only attend one or the other. If you had to choose one, which would it be and why?

Thanks.

CREIGHTON. I am a Creighton student, and there's a reason we have 10-15 students out of every class of 110 going into Ob every year. The Department Chair is great, the residents are super friendly, and it's a very laid-back program. I have heard terrible things about Nebraska's Ob/Gyn program, and I'm not just saying that because they're our crosstown rival.

With Creighton you work at 2 hospitals (a third for Gyn-Onc) and get a nice mixture of indigent and affluent patients. There's a reason people that want to stay in Omaha for Ob choose Creighton over Nebraska.

If you have further questions regarding Creighton's program, I'll tell you what I can. When's your interview?

I agree with the above. I'm a Creighton alum (from back when dinosaurs roamed the earth) and have nothing but fond memories of the Department of OB/GYN. >20% of my medical school class went into OB just beacuse the folks are so nice and make the work so much fun.

I don't think that UNMC is horrible by any means. I have a relative who is in one of the larger groups in Omaha and almost every one of them did a UNMC residency--and most all of them are great doctors too.

Is there any other UNMC fans?

During intern year at UNMC for FP and did a month in Ob for our obstetric rotation. Residents seemed generally happy with their experience. UNMC in my opinion didn't have the biggest volume of patients for ob, but they did a ton at Methodist. Although I didn't see the gyn side of things much, they seemed busy . They also had a good gyn onc experience. Didactics were good and faculty were overall very friendly. Can't say anything about Creighton.
