I got an email from Creighton saying my application was reviewed but since I indicated I was taking the January PCAT they were going to hold my application for a 2nd review when my file is complete. Are they saying...
(a) My application isn't good enough as of yet and they want to see if my PCAT is going to improve...or....
(b) They really want me to have a complete file lol.

What do yall think?

What did you get on your first PCAT, anyway?

I think they are holding your application to see if your PCAT can make you a more competitive applicant, so I would view it as a positive...I already got denied by Creighton, so at least they are still going to consider you!!! I know my PCAT from Oct. was way worse than your's and they didn't hold my app for my Jan. scores... 👎 Good luck though!! 😉

Did they allow you to choose if you wanted them to review your app now (without Jan PCAT) or later (with Jan PCAT)? They asked me this question and I told them to go ahead and review me since I didn't want them to wait.

83... =/ not the 98 and 99 that everyone else on here seems to be getting.

I'd say (b).

83's solid and you've probably gone up since then. I'd look at it as a positive. I received a Creighton interview invite -- which I declined -- w/an 84 1st time and 91 2nd. Don't let 95+ PCAT scores from others psyche you out.

Yea, your PCAT is good. Now that I know you got 82 on your PCAT, I'm changing my opinion to (b) =)

Yep, this is pretty much what they told me. I made a 91 the first time but they were concerned with my low chem score so they wanted to know whether they should wait for my January PCAT.

Are they that serious about individual scores? :scared: Seems like people get interviews there with composites lower than mine...

I really don't see why they would be concerned with a chem score over other scores. There is practically zero general chemistry in pharm school, just some acid/base stuff. Med chem uses basic organic knowledge to build on.

Thank you dgroulx! I don't know why either, but the guy said the adcom would definitely notice it. Then I told him I made an A in Org Chem I, and he said that was good, but still said it was up to me whether I wanted them to review me at that point.

Why would they say, "it was up to [you] whether [you] wanted them to review [you] at that point?" Of course you would! 😕

Because they can choose whether to give me an interview, defer me, or reject me (with my October score). They were asking because my chances of getting an interview could have been greater if I had asked them to wait for my January PCAT because of a potentially improved [Chem] score. I think the guy was being overly cautious, but who knows.
