criminal background check

I've been accepted to one of the schools which is participating "Criminal Backgroun Check".

Do you guys think I still have to do the check or not??

Because it looks like it only requires for the students who are conditionally accepted to the school.

My thought is that I will only do it after I put a deposit down for a school(s). Once I know where I want to go, I will either call them and ask or wait for instructions on which background check they want me to do.
