The CRNAs could get overtime where i used to work (docs not) and they belonged to a very strong nurses union (again not for docs). it really can be lucrative.

Lol. At our hospital our anesthesiologists don’t do jack ****. Literally. CRNAs do all the work. I’m fine w then making 200k to be honest
How did you do it differently when you were an anesthesiologist?

I wouldnt say that... what they are doing is taking the responsibility when a complication occurs and someone needs to be crucified...

I know you’re right on that. Just sayin I ain’t hating on a 200k salary for that amount of work in my hospital

When I ran the rooms, I would MUCH rather be in the room doing a case than trying to direct 4 CRNAs. I ran my ass off.

I also agree that CRNAs get paid too much in general for what they do. As anyone who has done anesthesia residency will tell you, there is a HUGE difference between having attending backup and BEING the backup.

Yes, there are lazy docs out there giving us all a bad name, they are the ones who caused this whole CRNA SNAFU.
