Hi guys,
I am having trouble with clearing the proximal contacts and esp the distal side on molars, any tips on how to go about it.
Thanks

Break contact with 169 carbide. Start chamfer with 747 until you have enough space interproximally to use a 242.

break contact with a 556/557. don't be afraid to completely obliterate the marginal ridge first and work your way apically. this area will be prepared anyways due to the natural contour of the tooth. this method sure beats moving your bur buccal/lingually as the chance of your damaging the adjacent tooth is much higher this way.

reduce the facial and the lingual completely and then work from the facial and lingual to go interproximally. use the chamfer/shoulder bur all the way!
