Since they want us to reinvent the wheel in dental school, what are some quick, helpful tidbits to turn out beautiful crowns?

Hire a good associate, and find a good lab.

Use a reduction stint to ensure proper reduction, don't undercut it.

One eye it to check for draw. Use proper magnification and light. New burs are good for plastic teeth.

Repetition is the mother of perfection.

Lol, and let me guess, you get to place all of them and take the fee? Sounds kinda shady....

Nope. They'll work for me, and I take a cut of the profit while playing a round of golf. It's the American way.

Beautiful crowns are created by good labs, to answer the original question. We just prep and temp.

Make sure your reduction is sufficient, but dont reduce too much...😉

Find a good lab.

Take GOOD, I mean GOOOOD impressions. If you give the lab shat, you'll get shat back.

The repetition remark is key IMHO.

👍 in preclinic, they teach you to be super conservative. however, if I were to prep teeth in clinic the way I did in preclinic, I bet all of my restorations would be overcountoured.
