Do any of you that have been accepted have C's in any of your science classes? Just wondering if admin committee would deny me for that.

I know plenty of people who have gotten C's in science classes and are now in pharmacy school and doing very well. Don't sweat it...

I agree! There are plenty of people in my class that have had C's.

I was admitted to Pharm school with a C+ in Gen Chem I, a B- in Gen Chem II, and I got a big fat F in Org Chem I the first time I took it... I re-took it in the summer and got an A, and wrote an (assumingly) convincing letter as to why it happened, and was admitted when I applied.

Im graduating this May, and had no troubles in Pharmacy school- it was actually easier than Pre-Pharm in my opinion, and much more fun!! Less stress.

Good luck to you. Work hard, study your ass off for the PCAT, and try to improve your Chemistry GPA by doing better in your upcomming courses. Its not over until its over. Apply everywhere... the more places you apply, the better your changes.

Thanks for the encouraging posts guys. 🙂

I have received so many Cs, I can't even remember them all. In fact, I've only gotten above a 3.3 one time in my academic career since junior high, and that's only because I had to in order to have something resembling a competitive GPA going into my interview. Just tell them in a subtle way that you hate school but love pharmacy. It worked for me, I got in.

There is no such thing as "reading class". I wish that you were smarter Ab. Go home.

I had a friend from UCI get into USC with a 3.5 something and another friend from UCSD get in with a 3.2 gpa. They all both had pharmacy experience. Same with another 2 friends, one with a 3.7 and some pharm exp, and another with a 2.7 and lots of pharm exp and a PT degree. Then again, I had a friend not get ito USC pharm school with a 3.9 GPA and research but nothing really pharmacy related.
I guess pharmacy experience is very crucial into determining how you will get in. I currently work in ADHD Clinical drug research setting with Shire pharmaceuticals as well as a pharmacy clerk. I will be applying next year.
Grades isn't everything to pharmacy school. You have to show that you are willing to be a pharmacist. Thats what they want to see.

Smarter than what? I'd like to see your english grade as well as your reading grade. Did you happen to notice that this thread was moved from pharmacy to pre-pharmacy? Oh, you didn't? D'oh!

I had a C in OrgoII and a C in Physical Chemistry. I got two acceptances and 3 interviews thus far. You can get in with a C here or there.
