Quick questions: are we expected to do a full mental status exam because in first aid they have it in the orders sometimes and other times they have it in the physical exam.

the other question is..are there multiple frequencies for the tuning forks? If so which ones am i supposed to use?

finally, how do i test sensation pinprick and vibration???

Just do Mini Mental unless it is a clear cut case of Dementia where you have to do more but never full mental status exam.
Yes there are multiple frequencies and the one you are supposed to use is 512 Hz (preferred) or 1024 Hz
Pin prick--use toothpick (tell the pat that you going to poke them with the toothpick BUT don't draw blood)
Vibration--use tuning fork over the nail bed of the big toe.
