Hello Fellow Future Doctors!

I am looking into Post Bac schools, I will be applying this year and hopefully starting in the Fall of 2014. I recently came across CSU Fullerton's program and I was wondering if anyone has recently completed the program at CSUF and if they liked it. What other programs can I look at?

Thanks for your help!

Anyone?
Did you apply to CSUF?
I'm also looking for information about this program.

Just an FYI but Fullerton is notorious for their grade deflation.

Hello there..

I graduated from CSUF's program last year.. and currently enrolled in a DO program. Overall, I liked the program, they have got everything you need to be accepted into ANY medical school, given that you work hard enough and have the motivation to accept the challenge.

that being said, before I was enrolled in CSUF, I was in USC's program for one semester. If I am going to choose between these two again, I will definitely choose CSUF again with no habitation. The quality of education is pretty much the same, given that the pre-med classes are all lower division classes~ there aren't that much of a difference in term of material. But yes.. it is much easier to get good grade in CSUF. When I was in USC, i definitely feel more stress because all the class I took was on a curved grading scale. Meaning that you are always competing with your classmates... You have to be on top 25% to get an A. Well.. some people may like such competitive environment.. but I certainly don't, because one of my main goal was to pull up my undergrad GPA!! At the end.. it is GPA & MCAT that matters... You rather have 3.9 GPA in CSUF then 3.5 in USC... and remember, when you are applying for medical school.. The degree you earned on the application will be your original undergrad school, not the post bacc program.

If you ask me what is the most important part of the application process.. It will definitely be MACT... You can have 4.0 GPA from most prestige school.. but if you flunked your MCAT.. you are screwed.. that being said.. which program you attended doesn't play that much of a factor in applying med school (assuming you have high GPA). You just have to ace that MCAT.

Now.. in term of success rate in CSUF... I don't have the exact number.. but most people I know got into somewhere.. I personally know one that got into Columbia MD/PHD program.. one in UCSF MD program.. and others in MD, DO, DDS, VAT programs.. and sure.. there are a few drop outs...

So the bottom line.. I will recommend CSUF.. But really.. whether you succeed or not.. is really up to yourself.

Let me know if you have other questions..
