I have applied to CSUDH for the 2015 Spring Semester and today I received a call from the department to schedule an interview with them next week. I was very surprised to receive a request for an interview as I was told at the informational session last year that they usually do not conduct interviews unless something was unclear or they needed more information from your application. I know I filled out the application thoroughly and I am a bit nervous on why they would want to interview me. I am hoping it is more of a formality and they want to get to know me better through the interview rather than something being unclear or more info is needed from what is stated on the app.

Can anyone who has experienced the interview process with CSUDH please shed some light on what their interview process was like? Also, does getting an interview with CSUDH lean towards a more positive or negative outcome? Any information would be greatly appreciated.

You shouldn't be concerned. You should be feeling pretty good right now. I got a call yesterday for an interview and I was ecstatic. This is my second year applying and I didn't even have he opportunity to interview last year. Of course I was denied but while watching the forums last year a lot of people that did get offered interviews were accepted shortly after.

Just go in being yourself as I will and we have the chance of being classmates. In the near future. I believe because in recent years they have received so many applications that interviews are becoming more of the thing to get to know the people they are considering admission to. They will probably ask you questions that they couldn't gather from anyone's application such as why OT? Why CSUDH? What are your interests? Things like that. All your can do is prepare yourself for questions they may ask. Good luck.

Thanks for the insight! I am relieved now knowing it is a formality more than anything. I hope your interview goes well and possibly we will both be at CSDUH this spring, good luck!
