Getting more competitive. Filled early last year, like June for many of the good places. Some even fill 18 months in advance. If you're finishing CA2 and want to do one, apply now.

Better ones are going to be personal choice. Some are more education oriented, and in others, you're there to be cheap labor and pump out the cases.
