Do schools give CTE extensions at all? I am on a waitlist for a school that is in my home state, and for various family reasons, it would be somewhat problematic (but not the end of the world) if I left to another state for school. Wondering if there is a precedent here, and if my school would be receptive if I asked for a 1-2 week extension?

Usually they don't. Admissions must be assured that the class is full. You will not likely get an extension if your concern is getting off another school's waitlist or waiting for other financial aid packages. You could be considered for an extension if there was an emergency situation with your health or a very close loved one. Act in good faith if you ask.
