Hey guys! Can someone please help me out with this question. How many cubes do you see? I see 14 and I'm not counting the cube behind the long tower. However, crack pat says otherwise. Am I doing something wrong? My exam is in 2 weeks, please help!

There are 15 cubes, it takes some practice or even more depending on the visual learner. In my picture that I have outlined, there should be a cube between the cubes labeled #6 and #7. If you are still confused, then I don't mind drawing a bird's eye view of figure B.

why aren't you counting the cube behind the tower?

@DOC YANKEM - thanks for your reply! I've been counting that cube between 6 and 7 and still get 14 total cubes. Here's a pic to show you what i did. My question is do you count that cube behind the tower (shaded)? If so, why count that cube since we are not suppose to assume?

Yes, I did count the shaded cube directly behind the tower.

Important Tip: We have to assume that all the cubes are touching at least one more cube on any side and it has to be "continuous" like in Calculus.

If we hypothetically imagine the shaded cube is not considered behind the tower, then there is a disruption between cube # 8 and #9 in your labeled diagram. Cubes # 8 and # 9 are only touching by the edge (NOT SIDE).

FYI, Crack DAT PAT is way too easy....I messed up my first time using that. I would highly suggest using only Bootcamp and DAT genius for PAT.
