I believe they track your production very carefully and will adjust your salary (after the buyout) if you aren’t hitting the target number. Other PE companies buy you out, they keep a percentage for your investment in the company and pay you a straight percentage. I believe Curalta is similar.

The way it works is they pay you a set amount per month based on prior (before merger) productivity. Your pay is suppose to be adjusted quarterly depending on if you are over/under budget.
