I have been curious about whether or not anyone (foreign or especially U.S. native) applying to medical school had a Caribbean program as their first choice as opposed to a U.S. program and why. Is it always a second, or even a third option? It seems some (like SGU) are at least comparable... statistically, there must be at least some U.S. students who do.

there are always exceptions to the rule but 99.8% of students in the offshore schools are there because they didnt get into a us school. 0.1% lie and say they chose it first. That other 0.1% maybe did choose it first. And a bad idea. Med school isnt the time for self exploration and travel; its professional school and you should go to the states if you get in. But if you dont its a viable alternative.
