In residency, do psy residents have to do any surgical-type procedures? I could see regular family practice things but not cracking someone's chest open.

In residency, do psy residents have to do any surgical-type procedures? I could see regular family practice things but not cracking someone's chest open.

Only things that medical interns would have to do -- you could find yourself doing spinal taps, putting in central lines, that sort of thing. And yes, running codes, but that shouldn't involve cracking someone's chest open (only on TV.) No surgery required.
