I just wanted to open a discussion on this, "radio silence" is a very commonly vented frustration on the school specific threads for medical schools.

At this point in the application cycle (February 28, about to be the first day of March), how many schools have you still received no communication at all from?

Personally, I applied to 16 or 17 schools and have received communication in the forms of holds, interviews, rejections, wait-lists, or acceptances from most of them. However there are still at least 4 schools I haven't heard a peep from, even after sending updates.

It seems like at this point, final interview invitations have been given out, so I'm wondering what is going on... Tell me what you think!

This is post secondary completion. 3 of them are in my home state so I'm curious, but not holding my breath.

I received secondaries from all the schools I applied to. Out of 7 MDs, I only got 1 II, though 2 of them I didn't complete their secondaries, and pretty much radio silence from the others. Out of 25 DOs, 2 of them I didn't complete secondaries, 11 radio silence, got 12 IIs, only went to 5 IIs, and got 2 acceptances.

I am wondering if these schools are just waiting to send out blanket rejections to uninterviewed candidates at the end of March, or if some of them are just making sure they have their last couple interview spots full before they reject everyone. Soon, any II's that weren't to make up for cancellations would have to go into April or later.

Really I'm asking, why haven't we received rejections yet??

I believe the DO cycle is about a month longer, but I've only ever done this once (and hopefully never again).

Total radio silence from five MD and two DO.

Four out of the five MDs I'm waiting on interview into April, so it's still possible. If yours are ones that interview late, it makes sense that you're not rejected yet. If it's schools with early interview seasons, that's just lazy and I'm right there with you.
