hey, I am currently at SGU in first term, I have an interview at a north american school (canadian school) soon and I really needed to know if I should mention that I'm currently at SGU or not during the interview.

One positive i can think of is that it would show my interest in practicing medicine but the negatives can be that I'm already in a med school or that i'm not serious about studying at SGU or I'm not showing integrity by applying to schools even after starting med school.

Are you at SGU med school or some other SGU grad program? If it's the latter then it won't be a big deal, but if it's the former I'm not sure what your post means. I highly doubt you can get into the Canadian school if you are matriculated now at SGU (and they'll know based on records eventually if you decide to omit that fact). They surely wouldn't have offered you an interview if you mentioned that you are a current medical student, and I'm pretty sure you are ineligible to apply to X school while attending Y school.

SGU is not a stepping stone to transfer to another school, and really you should have withdrawn everything after you matriculated. You could possibly transfer after your USMLE if you have some really personal reason and good scores (i.e. dying family member requires you to be at X location), but honestly your best bet now is to just work incredibly hard at SGU, dominate the boards and hope for the best for residency.

i'm afraid that you are going to have to tell them and try as hard to give them a good reason why they should take you.

It's been done before...I don't know if the person actually disclosed that they were studying in the Caribbean, but I have heard of one person who interviewed in North America while attending SGU, was accepted, and then restarted medical school. I personally know someone (albeit I don't know them very well) that is doing the exact same thing you are doing this semester- this person started SGU a couple months ago and was recently back up here to attend a medical school interview. I also know of another person (friend of a friend) who quit undergrad after three years, did a year of medical school abroad (not in the caribbean), returned to Canada to finish undergrad, and then went onto a Canadian medical school.

Your friend of a friend sounds like he/she is very much in debt right now

chances are the interviewer will ask you regardless of you mentioning it or not. The question here should be, how will you handle the situation. You should prepare for a scenario where you might be asked to explain what you are doing at SGU and trying to transfer.
