Cushing reaction triad= HTN, bradycardia, respiratory depression

Can someone explain the respiratory depression? I'm not understanding the MOA of this since the main effect of the Cushing reaction is SANS-->increased BP-->reflex bradycardia...but why resp depression?

According to google - "The irregular respirations are due to reduced perfusion of the brainstem from swelling or possible brainstem herniation."
