If you're behind and need time to catch up on verifying scripts; what % of customer phone calls would you (as the pharmacist) pick up if there's...

1 tech on duty?
2 techs on duty?
3 techs on duty?

I don't pick up any phone calls. I have the techs pick up and screen the calls. If they ask for the pharmacist, I tell the techs that they still have to ask the customer for what the call is about. More often than not, they just want to call in refills, arrange delivery, etc. I type the scripts in, techs count (but I'll count if I have to), and verify. When there are customers at the register I have all techs go to the register. (Where I work, drop off and pick up happens at the register, techs take down info for drop off and give it to me to process).

Customers in stores > customers on phone.

If you have waiters, they come first. If you're behind, esp. on acute meds, then focus on that. Once you catch up where you have some room, then focus on calls.
