The Department of Dermatology at University of Pittsburgh School of Medicine is offering a one to two year Cutaneous Lymphoma Fellowship under the direction of Dr. Larisa Geskin, the Director of Cutaneous Oncology Fellowship Program and the Director of Dermatology Residency Program.

Applicants must hold an M.D. degree from an accredited medical school, complete a PGY-1 and be available to begin the fellowship in July, 2011.

The fellowship offers the opportunity for participation in clinical patient centered care, translational clinical research, as well as basic science research. The fellow will also participate in consenting, screening, enrolling, and managing patients which subsequently are enrolled in the various study protocols. Other clinical experiences that the fellow will participate in include seeing patients in Pigmented Lesion and CTCL Clinics.

Fellow is expected to participate in dermatology conferences, Grand Rounds, Tumor Boards, Research meetings and clinical activities.

Just out of complete curiosity ...

I've seen several of these research dermatology fellowship opportunities posted, and each one seems to state "must hold an MD."

Does this mean DO applicants can't apply? Does "MD" mean only from LCME schools, or does this include all MDs (including MDs from foreign countries, MBBS, Caribbean students etc)?

Sorry to single out your post in particular, but it's probably the 3rd - 4th one like it I've seen and figured I'd ask.
