question:

before i got into med school I did research for 5 years. I've been published but only one was published while i was still in school. is it fair game to list them? and i'm talking about undergrad projects, i;m talking about grad school level publications..

Absolutely NOT! Nothing, and I repeat NOTHING you did before medical school counts anymore! :meanie:

Seriously though, of course all your publications from anytime in your life are fair to list on your CV. Peer-reviewed publications aren't less valuable because you did them prior to grad school.

LIst everything and allow whoever is looking at it decide what they they want to consider as being valuable experiene for their purposes.
A publication is a publication especially if you made a meaningful contribution.
Be warned though that if you put it on there, you run the risk running across someone who has done the same research and can expose you if you did nothing more than wash labware to get on the paper.

I had this happen to me where one of my publications was on the exact same topic that my interviewer was currently working on. Needless to say the interview suddenly started to look like a thesis defense.
