Anyone know when CVS pharmacists get their annual bonuses and approximately what range of money it might be in? (I realize there's alot of variability to this, but just wanted rough ranges)

Mid March but... its spare change... if you get anything at all.

Bonuses dont mean much when they include Synthroid in their generic subsitution rate, budget script counts that dont take into account competitors opening stores near you (and keeps on going up each year), etc. The only place where you might get something is from your triple S scores.

You might as well take that small bonus and take your crew out for dinner. After all, what is a 2 percent raise for them when they are making just above minimum wage.

Its true, quite sad when you think about it.

Are you still looking to move up the corporate ladder?

Yes, it's spare change especially they subtract and tax it like a regular pay check, after my 401K there's not very much left :eyebrow: Great idea about taking the techs out for dinner, Aznfarmerboi! May be I'll start doing that this year :biglove: my techs

i got 190$ this year. last year it was a lot higher. six figures higher. 🙁

Do any companies actually give decent bonus? The only one I know of is walmart. What about target or grocery chains?

192 dollars

Full time, 90 hours biweekly, store that does >4200/week. After taxes $700 deposited into my bank account. Now why in the hell would I work hard for this company all year round to get an extra $700? I can easily clear more than that in cash just working 2 days at my independent. 2 days at my independent will makes up for the hard work I am supposed to do in terms of getting high scores on SOS, KPM, MyCustomer, and whatever else is a metric. LMAO!

That's crazy.

1800 after taxes. New store >1800 rx per week

When I worked for Osco I got $24 - I bought two cases of beer and my techs and I drank it on the the picnic table outside after work one day. Well worth it lol

All they do is come up with more numbers/metrics they say you have to get in order to get your bonus. If they see enough stores meeting it, then all they will do is raise the # higher. I can work my butt off trying to do everything that I can and the other pharmacists can do as little as possible and still get a bonus. That's why I could care less when they say our store hasn't met such and such. If they changed it to how a person worked, Id be a billionaire by now.

Then you didn't make your numbers.

apparently if you did not meet your numbers, then you are not a good CVS pharmacist.

No, your store did not meet the numbers. That may or may not reflect on anything the pharmacist did or did not do. You have control of some things and not others....

I beat my MCE (+6), C+P (+2), and KPM(99 YTD) numbers considerably except for scripts (+~0.5%).

I am getting ~1600 before taxes. Not really worth the effort it takes to get the numbers, but I'll take it over nothing.

I worked prn for CVs and I have no idea what these numbers mean. I had a great DM - he said "as long as the store doesn't burn down - you did your job" Then I got a new DM that was b-yatch - and well - haven't worked there since.

Seems like there's no point in trying to reach those targets then, why does everyone stress about them then?

Because they threaten to fire you if you dont bring the metrics up. I know quite a few pharmacists who have been written up over the number, even over the kpm reach rate. crazy....

So your DM/sup stay off your back, and you can do whatever you want. My DM/sup are never at my store. That's the great thing.

Mycustomer is worth 500 dollars.... and KPM is not worth that much more. The majority of the bonus is based on budgeted script count (minus controls and narcs). If you are bringing in 0.5 percent above, why should the company give you more?

My store was 5 percent over in >4200 store too... AND we met total MCE, and KPM. Each of my staff got 5k and I got 10k. (About 5.5k after tax). The funny part? I didn't have to bust my ass.... I did fill all OTCs as scripts, did compounding for magic mouth washes, and busted my chops over PAs and doctor phone calls.

This year, it is based on SOS. I think you will do better although I have not seen the bonus structure yet.

Gross just under 5K for a store doing ~1200/wk. Just quit as PIC today. Going to work for an independent in town. No idea what my staff pharmacist is getting.

5 k for your techs as well?

no... but they will get a nice chunk. I couldn't have done it without them. And I cant afford losing them.

In the end, they work for me. They don't work for CVS.

Yup, definitely use those bonuses to treat your techs out. I've treated my entire team (including staff RPH) to very fancy dinners twice the past year. Bill comes out to at least $500-700 each lol. But it's all worth it for their hard work.

But the most important thing is raises. Anybody got their raise yet?

Best of luck. Learn the ropes and make you can buy it out later.

if you'r not a pic, the bonus dont come around much. anyone can pick up 1 extra shift and that will equal an entire year's struggle for a bonus. so all the metrics don't matter in this sense, except the sup/dm will get on ur tail. i heard one PIC either quits or got fired b/c the store didnt meet metrics. everyone who has worked or floated there love the place, awesome techs, and scripts are ready as promised. and the PIC has worked there for over a DECADE. but b/c of some numbers he didnt meet he had to leave.

Unbelievable

Have you seen the 2014 bonus structure yet? I have not seen it yet. When I go online , I still see the 2013 bonus structure

Maybe I should work for CVS, I will do what it takes to get $10,000 bonus.

Are we talking pic bonuses here ? 10k seems pretty low for hitting all the numbers as an all star .... Maybe an all star of a 1800/wk store?

Is the Target Variable Pay you bonus?

Yes , that is your bonus to expect if you hit your minimum targets (ie most customers satisfied, did a few more shots and scripts than last year, and your numbers are in line with overall corporate goals)

If you are "flying casual", you can probably expect less .. if you are an all star who can get increased revenues while maintaining perfect or near perfect customer experience, you can expect more if your company treats their people right.

At my employer .. if you are at a 2100/wk store , target is 6... If you basically phoned in and your performance wasn't abysmal, you get a couple thousand .. if you are an all star (ie top 5-10% for your district in your volume class and win all corporate games) you get 10ish .

The company I work for has volume breakpoints , and if you are on the higher side of that breakpoint (to increase your stores ROI to what's acceptable to shareholders basically) , your bonus is a LOT more. (Example 1k for bad performance at a slow store, 40k for all star performance at a gajillion scripts per day store)
