So all computer systems have their ups and downs, but one thing I love in the CVS computer system is being able to type in a couple of characters in the drug line and have exactly the drug I want come up on my computer. So, for all you CVS Techs/Pharmacists, I figure we'd start this thread to get a list of good shortcuts you can type in. I found some that even my genius lead tech didn't know, and he shared quite a few with me, so let's feed off of one another. Here are the few I know. Feel free to share.
A500 - Amoxil 500
A875 - Amoxil 875
AU875 - Augmentin 875
AU500 - Augmentin 500
MDP - Medrol Dose Pack
ZPAK - Heroine (go figure)
H25 - Hydrochlorothiazide 25 (one of my favorites, b/c you gotta type "hydrochlorothia" otherwise to narrow the list down enough...see, I had to backspace like 5 times just now to get it right lol)
H50 - Hydrochlorothiazide 50
T3 - Tylenol #3
P500 - Penicillin VK 500
Also, if you type ZP in the sig field, it'll insert the full directions for a Z-Pak as opposed to "Take As Directed."
