CVS Internal Transfer

When I graduated school in 2016 I transferred districts to start as a pharmacist in a new district (1). After a year in that district (1), I decided to transfer back home to be closer to family (they were having some medical issues) in my old district (2).

At this point I have been dating someone for a year and we want to move back together to the old district (1) to buy a house and start a family. Her family lives there and we think it's best for us in terms of schooling for kids, buying a house (cost of living), and professional fulfillment.

Are supervisors usually supportive of these decisions?

I agree with that completely. I have been with the company for about 10 years and have noticed the disparity between districts.

If it's metro, forget about getting a store immediately unless your boss know how competent you are. You are going to be placed in a wait list of people wanna move back.

You are more likely to be placed in float pool with random hours sometimes over 40h/w, some times only 2-3 shifts/w.

And, sometimes, you can wait 2 yrs+ (if you are in a bfe town), and they still won't transfer you.

Best if you have a job offer at hand and leverage that for an internal transfer, they tend to move you in less than 2 weeks if you do. I know at least 5 rphs got transferred immediately when they have a job offer at a competitor.
