CV's and Personal statements are scanned into the computer system in the same way Letter of Recs are. We don't type it directly into the computer system like we did for medical school. So once my CV and Personal Statement is scanned into the system, I won't be able to tweak it. So my CV gets to be in the font, alignment, format, spacing that I want it to be.

Is that correct or incorrect?

not exactly....
you type in the info (cv-related info) onto the ERAS database, which is then sent in along with your app. For Personal Statement, you can have it written, but you just copy/paste into again, the ERAS database. Only thing that is "scanned in" is your picture, and your transcript, oh yah, and lettters of rec.
