This totally sucks for that unfortunate pharmacist and yet we're just sitting ducks for any psycho customer that comes to our pharmacies everyday. Like me I got a write up for refusing to dispense #13 Duragesic patches with a 30 day supply because that patient falsely accused me of speaking to her with a "raised voice" and called her a fraud (I said if I do 30 day supply with a 1 patch every 3 days direction it would be considered a fraud, but I didn't say anything about her committing a fraud). Anyway just bacause this customer complained to the area's vice president so my DM wrote me up to get himself covered and kept this customer happy as an evil pharmacist has been punished...

I'd get the number off of the caller ID, wait a month, then call THEM in about a month from a a payphone at 2AM and tell them I'm waiting outside of their house and I'm going to kill their family. That'll show 'em.

I had a co-worker once who used to take the names of rude people from his newspaper job home and prank call them. He also called every hotel in town from work and asked if they rented by the hour. One guy gave him a referral. He was an ass, but hilarious.

That pharmacist had alot of patience. If that guy couldnt provide me with a name or rx number within the first 2 minutes it would have been all over.

I wish he would have called my pharmacy cus that call would have gone very differently and he would never had made it far enough to proudly display on youtube.

at one of our stores right down the street from where i work (I have worked with the pharmacist it happened to) something happened that almost made me quit the company right then. The pharmacist is a tiny asian lady (who was actually pregnant at the time but wasn't showing yet), and something wasn't going right with a patient and the patient got really mad.

For whatever reason the patient (who was a man) actually ended up jumping over the counter to go after the pharmacist. Two of the male techs grabbed the guy and held him down until the store managers got there and made him leave the store.

Later on, the guy complained about the whole situation to upper management and they suspended the two techs without pay for putting their hands on a customer in a forceful way.

wish i was...those tech's were nice that they just restrained him. Everyone at our pharmacy absolutly loved that pharmacist, we they woulda been rushing that guy to the hospital if he had pulled that crap in our pharmacy

I actually had something along the same lines happen to me my first month as a pharmacist. It wasn't a prank call though. A patient was trying to get her medications (controls) early. Our policy is we won't dispense more than two days early without notifying the doctor. The technician was trying to explain that and the woman kept interrupting her, yelling etc. The same woman later that day called back, got me and asked for a corporate phone number. Well, now armed with MY name from answering the phone call, she called and said that I had told her that she was abusing her medication etc etc. (Which the technician never said either as I could hear her end of the conversation the whole time). MY DM looked into it, but after speaking with us in the pharmacy nothing came of it since I had never even spoken with the woman (except for answering the second call). She threatened to not come back and the company tried to woo her for a bit, but that was the end of that thank goodness.
