I heard that applicants had to write an essay during the interview at Case.

Could someone give some more insight on how long the essay has to be, how much time is given to write the essay? Lastly is the essay to be written on paper or can it be typed?

Thanks in advance

the purpose of writing the essay at ANY school is to see if your tone of voice/writing style matches your personal statement. It proves that you can think on the spot, think or write coherently. Make sure you RE-READ your essay. It is always hand-written.

Actually, when I interviewed at Case Wester, we were given the essay prompt when we checked in. We had the whole interview session to work on it whenever we got a chance. Just had to turn it in before we left. The topic was nothing special. I don't think you have to worry about it at all. 🙂

Thank you very much for your help! 🙂

Could you tell me what type of essay question you had? I am not asking exactly the essay title.
I just want to know the categories CWRU may ask?

Some other pre-dental student said that they had essay questions similar to the following:
"If there were a such thing as truth, I wouldn't have been able to create so many paintings" - Picasso
Explain what Picasso meant.

I hope CASE doesn't have this kind of questions.

They are both really easy. Just know why you going into dentistry and try not to over think things.

There were 2 essay questions on either side of a piece of paper. I believe you have only that space to write, not that you should even think about writing more. One question was along the lines of "We are thinking of redecorating our staff lounge. What would you change about it?"

I used plenty of humor in my response (at least in my eyes😀) and really just tried to bring out my personality in the response. I think thats all they are looking for, because honestly who is going to seek decorating advice from a prospective student!
