CWRU vs Hofstra

This forum made possible through the generous support of SDN members, donors, and sponsors. Thank you.
If your plan is to be in NYC I don't think you can go wrong with either, and Hofstra is cheaper. Having a nearby support system is really big. In your case, I would go Hofstra. Assuming they have enough clinical rotation sites I don't think you close any doors. I don't think you can go wrong with CWRU either, but spending 4 years away from family is not for everyone. If you want to leave options open for the future in terms of matching elsewhere in the country, then CWRU may give you the leg up.

Plus, I imagine you'd eventually have to rotate at UH and/or Metro and/or VA, so it's not like everything will be at CC-Main.
CWRU provides the option to rotate entirely at the Cleveland Clinic under the Cleveland Clinic Longitudinal Clerkship: 40 weeks at CC and 8 weeks of away.

CWRU and CC are pretty awesome, but putting a merit scholarship to Hofstra on your CV will be very impressive too. Can’t go wrong with either, so I’d choose the cheaper/closer to home option.
