University of Toledo
Pros
Case Western
Pros
My heart is leaning toward CWRU but my mind is asking if it's worth the extra 280k. I don't know which specialty I will pursue yet so I want to leave as many doors open as possible. I have received advice going both ways and am feeling pretty torn at the moment. If I had to make a gut decision, it would be the Toledo. What do you guys think?
Pros
- Full-tuition scholarship (worth ~160k)
- New simulation center
- Low cost of living
- Average STEP 1 above national average
- Supportive environment
- P/F first two years
- Summer research opportunities
- Global health program
- Match list in a wide range of specialties (mostly in Ohio)
- Lower ranked school
- New curriculum with kinks still being worked out
- Overall fewer research opportunities
- Location
- Faculty turnover
- 80% mandatory attendance (may be reduced)
- Some clinical sites outside of Toledo
