You shouldn’t feel like a traitor the whole point of my argument is that academically there is not much difference and you should choose the school that best suits you.

I agree!

If I end up getting into my MD choice and matriculating, it's not going to stop me from comparing notes with my DO colleagues and collaborating with them.

DO=MD for me, so the degree is not the part that will matter in my choice.
