D.O. Neurology - Need to take USMLE?

I have a friend that is in D.O. school and is interested in Neurology. Do D.O. students need to take both the COMLEX and USMLE Step 1 if applying for a neurology residency? This is important, as she needs to register for the USMLE if need be. Its tough to find information out on the net about what programs will or will not accept the COMLEX. Any other advice that may be helpful? Thanks for any input. 👍

If your friend is interested in any competitive neuro programs she should take both the COMLEX and USMLE. Also, it helps to have USMLE when applying for prelim year positions. Most D.O. schools will tell you you don't have to take USMLE, but if you are applying to allopathic residencies and want to be competitive you should take USMLE. Just my opinion.
