**PLEASE DON'T QUOTE info about me **

I've been a lot more confused when finalizing my D.O. list for schools that aren't too far from Ohio. I'm looking for schools without mandatory lectures and it would be cool if they had good research opportunities as well. I also am hoping they'll give me a good shot at non-primary care specialties as well.

I applied to 35 MD schools already which I know is a lot :'), but I'd be happy going to a DO school as well so I wanted to apply to a few.

Info about me:
  1. Bio major w/ minor in Spanish
  2. cGPA and sGPA as calculated by AACOMAS: cGPA: 3.73, sGPA: 3.54
  3. MCAT score(s) and breakdown: 509 (127/125/128/129)
  4. State of residence or country of citizenship (if non-US): Ohio
  5. Ethnicity and/or race: White
  6. Undergraduate institution or category: local public school
  7. Clinical experience (volunteer and non-volunteer): volunteer - 50 hrs, paid - 650
  8. Research experience and productivity: 2500+, no pubs, several posters and abstracts
  9. Shadowing experience and specialties represented: 100+ hrs across many specialties
  10. Non-clinical volunteering: 600 hrs working with refugees in my community, and students from conflict zones
  11. Other extracurricular activities (including athletics, military service, gap year activities, leadership, teaching, etc): founder of an outreach program, leadership in a club that's very meaningful to me for 4 years (including president), lots of work with refugees, one semester teaching assistant
  12. Relevant honors or awards: a few scholarships, research awards, and awards for my club’s work with refugees
  13. Anything else not listed you think might be important: trilingual, studied abroad, unique creative hobby
After doing some research this is the list I have now:
-CHICAGO COLLEGE OF OSTEOPATHIC MEDICINE OF MIDWESTERN UNIVERSITY
-DES MOINES UNIVERSITY COLLEGE OF OSTEOPATHIC MEDICINE
-KANSAS CITY UNIVERSITY OF MEDICINE AND BIOSCIENCES COLLEGE OF OSTEOPATHIC MEDICINE
-LAKE ERIE COLLEGE OF OSTEOPATHIC MEDICINE
-MICHIGAN STATE UNIVERSITY COLLEGE OF OSTEOPATHIC MEDICINE
-OHIO UNIVERSITY HERITAGE COLLEGE OF OSTEOPATHIC MEDICINE
-PHILADELPHIA COLLEGE OF OSTEOPATHIC MEDICINE

Thank you!

You are competitive for all DO schools with your stats. Can you afford the OOS tuition at MSUCOM and the tuition at CCOM ?

Thank you for pointing that out I missed CCOM tuition, I may reconsider.

This may be a silly question but are there certain D.O. Schools that are more known for having a research emphasis or have a higher amount of students matching into non-PCP/have high step scores? I found it a bit difficult to find Step score info or 'competitiveness', so I'm not sure if this is just a silly thing to look for and if I should mainly focus on location while choosing schools.

I am not aware of any DO schools that place a high emphasis on research. You can check the school websites to see their most recent residency match list.
