In the main forum, there is so much activity regarding acceptances, interviews and all that.

Being from Ontario, I submitted everything in one shot on Oct1, and now must wait for MONTHS before hearing anything.
What are you canadians (ontarians) upto!

Be patient oh virgin applicant (jj  ). With marks like that in your mdapplicant file ... someone will bite for at least an interview!

You only applied to Ontario anyway - why do that? Kinda risky knowing the evidence to show how hard it is to get into Ontario let alone Canadian medical schools😕

Yea, but the out of province applicant pool is a joke. McGill for example accepts 6 or so out of province. So chances are much reduced.
I wanted to apply to more places in the States, but the costs, deadlines etc. were discouraging.

Yea, patience is a virtue.

Don't you also count as Quebecois, you said (born here)? If so, you can apply to McGill until January 15th.

I applied to Ontario last year too. It's a crazy-making, long, miserable wait. I would advise you to stay busy and not think about it, but I know firsthand how ridiculous that advice is.

I have a feeling you'll be fine though. You'll have your pick with those stats. 🙂

Sorry. Yes, its true I'm considered Quebecois, so I have no out of province status anywhere I applied.
I meant to use it as an example, since I don't know exactly how many Dalhousie or Alberta accept, for example. I have a friend who applied everywhere in Canada, and North Eastern US.. that may have been more prudent.

I am also playing the waiting game. However, I think my only chance is at Ottawa unless UofT seems something miraculous in my application. 🙄

akinf: your very strong essay might help you a lot. I'm sure everything you submitted was well written, and schools may realize that your verbal score was a fluke.
I know some people who matriculated UofT with a 7 in VR btw.
Good luck.
