No it doesn't matter. If you actually have a passion for dance it could even be helpful. International health won't make you stand out, but dance might. Study what you enjoy in undergrad other than the med school pre-requisitesIs it okay to take a Dance class vs. an International Health class? The international health class is obviously more beneficial in terms of medical school, and focuses on global health trends. But the dance class sounds more fun and exciting.

if thats the case then it won't help you. But neither will the international health class. The truth is, med schools don't care what classes you took, only your GPA. If it doesn't hurt your GPA then have some fun and go for it!Even if it's only one dance class?
I'm not planning on taking anymore dance classes...that all depends on how much I like this one.

My dance classes (2-3) came up in every interview and seemed to be a favorable aspect. N=1 but I'm guessing dance will be more original (especially if you can speak passionately about it) than intl health. YMMV but you ARE asking on a premed forum.
Honestly which will you enjoy more? Can you read a book and get the same concepts as your global health class?
Dance class is a great idea, but getting an A in the class may depend on a skill set you have less mastery of if you weren't born with great coordination. Don't imperil your GPA just to have some fun. Is P/F an option?
I've taken ballroom courses every semester since sophomore year... came up in most of my interviews as well (positively). You need something in your life to balance the stress of medicine!

P/F is not an option. While I don't have much dance experience, I feel like I can do well in this particular dance class because it is a part of my culture and I know a lot about it.
My biggest passion is music (singing especially) and i would have jumped for the university chorale classes, but they are all conflicting with my required science courses :/

I really hope you can make this work in the future!! I really enjoyed singing in a choral ensemble. With careful planning, I fit it in almost every semester. It's a great break from academics, you get to hang out with fun and talented people, and there's always a great sense of accomplishment after a good concert!
