Recently I suffered an injury to my shoulder when I took a fall during Brazilian jiu-jitsu training (damned judo roots). I had it x-rayed but nothing appeared broken. Going on 4 weeks now, though, it's still very tender.
This made me consider what might happen if I were to hurt myself during martial arts training. Do any PT/PTA students participate in potentially injury-prone hobbies? Would martial arts training be something a future PT would have to give up? I try to train smart, but I know accidents will happen (so might tripping on a sidewalk). Weightlifting, elliptical, jogging, etc. are so boring to me. I would hate to have to give up exercise that is so stimulating and rewarding.
