Well I am not happy at all, but I am going to continue with my application and take the test again for the next cycle.
I don't think the test was that hard, but my concentration of study was in Biology mainly and it really crashes my other subjects. I am glad I learn my lesson; I know how to prepare better!!! We learn from every experience.

Biology: was random nothing hard I guess, 3 or 4 questions that no material out there is going to help you with… no frap though. Destroyer was good for this subject, off course not the only source to trust. I also used APcliff which was excellent.

Chemistry: almost no calculation, which I was totally ready to do. All concepts, but no easy ones, you really need to know your chemistry; memorize Kaplan because it was really small details that I overlook.

Organic: It wasn't hard, I was very confident while I was taking my test, I thought it was easy!!! But my scores don't reflect that at all. I am clueless here because I really thought I knew my stuff.

PAT: I wish I would practice more… I had the CDP but only with 5 tests, and I started practice very late for this, that is all you need practice…. I think achiever is a good practice extremely hard but then you see everything else very easy and clear.

QR: practice, practice, practice….. destroyer good for a start, but you need much more way more than that, a lot of word problems, and other weird stuff that I didn't see in any practice test…

RC: English is my second language, I wasn't getting more than 17 in practice test so I am actually relieve that it wasn't a 12….

Scores

TS 18
AA 17

I promise to myself to post my scores no matter how bad they look, I know a lot of people have excellent scores in this site but also there is so many others asking questions for weeks and then they disappear no scores nothing… I think that it would be more beneficial for all of us to see the bad and the good.
Anyway THANK YOU VERY MUCH guys you have been very helpful, I have learn so much from you and I will be here next year, unless I get accepted somewhere with this scores !!!!

hey good job. i think you did pretty well and at least you don't have to sleep thinking about random bio facts anymore!

dont' give up yet........study again but twice as much ...so u'll be ready in three months.

I think you have a decent shot at a few schools considering you're a URM and have a good GPA.

Don't feel too bad... 17 is the "average" even though this site does not reflect that. I have friends who have gotten into Dschool with 17 and 18... you have a 20 in bio which is good. I'm taking the dat on sept 2 and I figure regardless of what happens, it's still good to apply and get your name out there... that way if you don't make it you can show dramatic improvement on the next time around. You'll be fine, just think of this time around as a practice test 🙂 good luck

Thanks guys for your advice and words 🙂

dont worry I got a 17 my first time too. The second time around I felt a lot more confident and pulled off a 20. You will be fine.

HEy buddy, you and I are in the same boat!!!! I bought ALL the DAT stuff I can possibly find o-line and I am gonna study hardcore till my next DAT test. Cheers to the both of us!!!!

Thanks for being sincere, there is nothing about bad experiences. Just study more and you'll succeed. I think that Kaplan gchem was enough --in addition to practice tests-- b/c it was so concise and right to the point I didn't need to go to the texts (I got 23 ) IMO.
GL !

Hey can you break down a little on the Gchem on what topics we should know since you said you missed the basics??....DAT Tuesday😱.....

Did you think destroyer helped for Ochem and Gen Chem, or is it more worth it to go over Kaplan BB theory and conceptual problems from sources like Examkrackers 1001 books?

I agree 🙂 17 IS the average, but when you're on this site and you see people posting up their 21s and 23s and such, you kind of feel a little down. But think of all the people who don't put up their scores, or aren't even on the site!

Don't stress too much, and if you write again, you'll be better prepared!

Hey guys thank you for all your posts. Destroyer for chemistry, I think for the type of test I got, it wasn't that helpful. Don't get me wrong, I learned a lot from Destroyer, but mainly was calculations, the concepts were good but not complete, I think Kaplan is enough but really make sure you are getting everything that is on those pages, do not overlook anything, everything there is important. I didn't use examcrackers so I don't know how good it is, I am going tomorrow to the bookstore to check it out, and I will let you know... On the other hand I think Destroyer organic chemistry was very helpful. My score in here really bothers me. As I was going through the test I was feeling very confident and I though I knew every single questions, so what I got wrong, I don't know....
If you have any more questions just let me know 🙂

Don't give up. I just took it also a few days and decided I would post regardless on how I did. We need more reports like these one SND so we can encourage each other and have a better scope of the testing experience. I hate hearing over and over about people posting 4.0sci 22+DAT and crying about their chances of acceptance and how worried they are about this cycle. Although it would be nice to be at that status but I guess we'll just have to pick it up a few notches.

Thanks for being so helpful. I really appreciate you taking the time to check out those Examkrackers 1001 books at the bookstore. Let me know what you think of them.

Hey I just came back from the bookstore and look over Examkrackers, I though it was really good. There is a lot of calculation problems, but there are a lot of conceptual problems as well, so I think that would be great practice. I also like the organic one, so if you have the time, do it.
