I'd like to start off by saying thank you to everyone on the SDN ... This was practically my home page for the last 3-4 weeks as I finished up winter quarter and began studying for my DAT. Reading it all yesterday as tips for day-before test, etc etc. I took the test at 10 AM today and here is a little break down:

PAT: 24 (99.0)
QR: 20 (89.3)
RC: 22 (90.3)
Bio: 22 (95.7)
GC: 23 (95.0)
OC: 26 (98.1)
TS: 24 (99.3)
AA: 23 (98.3)
:woot:

Study aids:

Kaplan Guide- read through it all once but mostly focused on the GC section of the book. Also i used the full length practice test at the end of the book on the first day as a standing to see where I started off at.

DAT destroyer- GREAT book. went through it entirely twice - really helped tie up lose ends and learn topics I wasn't that great at. highly recommend

Princeton Review workbook- also went through the bio/chem/ochem/math of this book twice. Didn't really give the RC and PAT that much weight cuz i'm not gonna lie.. its PAT was pretty bad.

TopScore- I basically only used the Science portion of it. Not because the other portions were bad, but because I was on a time crunch with only studying for 3-4 weeks and wanted to maximize my time by using the best portions of each test guide.

Crack DAT - this alongside DAT destroyer was the majority of my study. DON'T USE IT FOR TS. Its horrible and makes you feel ******ed. I used it mostly for its perceptual/math/RC. The perceptual was pretty comparative to the actual DAT, except I felt the angles were easier on the DAT. The RC had way more conceptual questions on Crack RC than the actual DAT, which made the DAT a lot easier to SnD which I had never practiced but ended up doing for some reason  Oh and the layout of CrackDAT was a lot like the actual exam, which made me feel a bit more comfortable.

2 days prior I took a full length test which comprised of TopScore for TS and Crack DAT for the other 3 portions, reviewed my mistakes and day before I rested. I cant emphasize how helpful this was. I went to the gym, cleared my mind, watched some old TV shows I was behind on, and did a simple review of sciences (1 hr TOPS) before I went to bed and tried getting a full night rest. Don't eat/drink too heavy before the exam and try and stay calm.

I know it may look sketch because it is my first forum post but I'm not with any company.. just putting a disclaimer out there haha.

Thanks again for being a really helpful resource and good luck to all of you that still have yet to take it. If you guys have any questions, please feel free to ask 🙂

EDIT: ops.. 1/4/11 .. haha not used to it yet

When you took your first practice DAT to see where you were at? how did you do on your sections? Also how was your study schedule? Just wondering 🙂

Needless to say i was kind of freaked out haha, but it turned out alright 🙂

and yupp those are percentiles not percent haha

In three weeks you improved your scores to the mid to upper 20's??? That's absolutely fantastic! Congrats!

You guys are raising the bar😡 Just kidding.
