I NEED to get 22+.
I am pretty sure there are people who retook the DAT and showed a big improvement. Can you give me some tips?

My scores...

PAT 21 - kaplan, DAT achiever
QR 17 - kaplan, DAT achiever, destroyer
RC 16 - kaplan, DAT achiever
Bio 20 - kaplan, DAT achiever, destroyer, Schaum's outline
GC 20 - kaplan, DAT achiever, destroyer
OC 19 - kaplan, DAT achiever, destroyer
TS 20
AA 18

I can retake the DAT in september. I already turned in my application and planned to send the new scores in september. I know it's late. If I study for the Sep test, am I wasting my time?

QR: I think you should take a look into Topscore. Relearn all the trig, conversion and quadratic equation (graphs and inequalities).

btw, i think ur scores are great and there is no need to retake.

For the sciences, when you pick an answer, reason it out as to why it is that answer and no other answer. Orgo and genchem know your ****. Kaplan BB does a good job of explaining the reactions for orgo and gen chem is pretty sufficient too. Read it over a few times until you understand it (Ive read orgo 4 times, gchem 3 times, and bio 3 times). Bio is pretty random so study anything and everything and hope you dont get FRAPPED.

QR- Kaplan BB once again to get your general knowledge back. Dont start doing problems until you have memorized all the formulas, identities, etc...Once you think you know everything then try to tackle the problems. I know the world problems are hard but when you do them over and over again you start to see some repitition. PRACTICE PRACTICE PRACTICE for this section.

PAT- PRACTICE PRACTICE PRACTICE but you seem to be doing fine in this section.

RC- On the ACT i remember getting 17s and 18s on reading and i thought i would fail miserably at this section. My first practice test i scored a 20 and havent scored lower since. I read through the whole section really fast (skim) and then try to answer the question. When you skim, you kinda remember key points and what paragraph they were in which makes it easier to find your answer. Any problems you dont know, mark and skip because time will defeat you. Your scores are pretty decent and you should expect 1-2 higher.

Dont panic, reason through your answers, if you dont know it right of the back, mark it and move on. If you put in hard work, the results will show it.

there is no harm in retaking. Whats your GPA and other stats? 18 is borderline, you might get some interviews.
