So I just finished writing my DAT about 2 hours ago. Here's how it went:

PAT-25
QR-24
RC-23
Bio-19
Gen chem-22
O chem-20

TS-20
AA-22

This was actually my second time taking the DAT. The first one I took back in January and I took it after reading through the Kaplan book once. Needless to say the scores were lower that time (TS-17, the stuff you can't really study for was about the same).

This time around I bought the DAT destroyer, and subscribed to Chad's videos and gave myself a full month to study. I found Chad's videos to be really helpful. I never liked chemistry and had to learn half the O Chem reactions for the first time, but Chad did an amazing job explaining the concepts. as for the DAT destroyer, it was quite comprehensive and covered essentially all the topics. The questions were definitely much more difficult than the actual test.

I have a few questions and I also wanted to ask for some advice. As happy as I am that I got 25 on the PAT, do most schools put a greater emphasis on the science scores? To explain my situation a little more, my GPA is not that great: cGPA of around 3.4 (first year was 2.9 then got better after that) so I was hoping my DAT scores would cover for my marks somewhat. Plus I am Canadian.
I will be starting on my applications very soon. Which schools do you recommend I apply to given my current scores/GPA, and my Canadian status? I was thinking Detroit Mercy, Boston, NYU, Case Western.

Any help would be appreciated. Thanks!

Great scores. Nice job. Chad is the man. I did the same thing and used him for my second DAT. From what I have heard and seen, science scores are focused on more. PAT is not too big of a thing if you do poorly but a good score would be a plus. Your GPA isn't too low and schools like to see and upward trend. Not sure on anything to do with being Canadian. Sorry I can't help with that one.

Good luck!
