hey all,
i check this website periodically and want to thank you for all the input posted throughout SDN. I am a re-applicant and took the DAT for a second time today. I scored a 17/19. I submitted my application with LORs and everything back in May, but just want to hear some advice on the next step. I have a cum GPA of 3.3 and a science GPA of 3.4. This coming fall i will be starting a biomedical masters program at Rosalind Franklin. Im obviously dissapointed with my DAT result for a second time, but I did improve each section score from my previous test. Do i have no choice but to re-take the DAT again?
thanks

Hi! I'm in the same boat with you. I just finished DAT today, and really upset now. I couldn't believe in my eyes that I got that score. my DAT score is 18/18, and I will retake it in Oct.

You know you can take it only three times, right? I'd say save your last shot in case things don't go right this cycle (hope everything will be fine). Then you'll have to kill it in March-April next year and add your killer grades from the grad program. I'd also recommend applying to at least 15 schools, call them first to see if they have a cut-off for the scores.

Would you both mind sharing your impressions on the exam? Especially regarding the OChem part? People keep saying there are very few and fairly basic reactions and most of it is conceptual stuff - nucleophilicity, etc.
