What up guys. I'm fairly new here but I've reading this forum for about a year now. I took my DAT this afternoon. And I have to admit I did NOT feel ready, especially in Bio. I took the Kaplan course this summer and bought Topscore. I have to admit...I did halfass the entire Kaplan course (since it was summer) but did buckle down this past month.

PAT: 21
QR: 23 (i love math...surprised this wasnt higher)
RC: 20 (i was expecting less than 14..no joke)
BIO: 18 (ouch...thas my major!)
GC: 25
OC: 23
TS: 20
AA: 22

I am a Biochem and Econ major and plan to apply for a dual MBA program. What are good numbers to compete for these programs?? My GPA is 3.2 (still a junior...so got time to bring it up). Might I also add that I am a "Asian American Male"...so I fear "affirmative action" may not be in my favor 🙁

Since I am a Biochem major...is it bad that my Bio section was my lowest??? Any idea what I should do to increase that (i've heard Destroyer is good...)?? Thank you to all for your opinions and input.

I'd say those scores are FANTASTIC! But if you really are crazy enough to retake (which I advise against) the Destroyer will definitely raise those science scores.

Congrats, think about it long and hard before you do anything. Good luck!

How is it going to be a problem? I'm worried about this issue also....😳

How is it going to be a problem? I'm worried about this issue also....😳

According to the 2006-2007 ADEA Official Guide to Dental Schools, p. 12, Table 2-1:

In the 2004-2005 Application Cycle:

"About 47 percent of the 9,433 individuals who applied for admission were enrolled."

Also, 816 Asian students enrolled out of 1,892 applicants to Dental Schools in the US, which would be a 43% acceptance rate for Asians, which would be slightly lower than the overall average.

However, having said that, a number of people who enrolled did not provide their information, so these numbers may or may not be indicative of the trend today. But it may very well be the best information available right now.

Asian student-- is that an advantage at mid west schools?

no one has commented on my Bio issue. is it a problem for dent schools? will they look at that?? do like they see consistent scores? is a huge range looked down upon?

Im bio major, had only 18 on bio as well, but it doesnt seems like a problem to get interviews, hehe. Your scores are good, I wont worry~

Exactly the same for me. I'm a bio major and had an 18 on the bio section as well. And am an asian american male as well. And my grades aren't too good.. the list goes on, but i seem to get interviews anyway.

Your scores are excellent - even your bio grade is good enough. With those scores, you will definitely get into most schools! Great job!! Congrats!!!
