Hey all. On number 11, the question asks about correct properties of proteins and says that "operating under a wide range of physical and chemical environments, " is false. I assumed it was true because enzymes in the stomach like pepsin are optimal in acidic conditions while other enzymes in the body are optimal at physiological pH and temperature. So different enzymes do operate at a large wide of environments. Now I understand they probably meant that if you take an enzyme from one part of the cell and put it in another it won't work but it can be seen from both perspectives. Will the DAT Bio be so ambiguous?

Probably not the answer you want, but yes, there will be a few bio questions that are ambiguous like that. I think achiever does a good job of simulating that.

However, rest assured that many of the questions will be straight forward!

Hey WiredNerv, I had the same exact thought process when I put my answer! It is annoying that the question is almost intentionally meant to be misinterpreted...but perhaps that was the author's point. At any rate, I hope it isn't like that on the real test.

what were the other answers, if u dont mind posting. the key to these are the fact that one will be the BEST answer from the rest, so you have to choose which you would feel best represents the question. im sure the other answers were recognizable as incorrect so you could narrow it to this one

Question stem wants to know which are correct properties of enzymes
I. Catalytic proteins shifting reactions away from their equilibrium positions
II. Lowering activation energies of reactions
III. Operating under a wide range of physical and chemical enviornments
IV. Substrate specific via induced fit and allosteric regulations.
