Is it possible to buy the DAT Acheiver software used? I heard that you must authenticate your purchase online or something. Not sure exactly what the deal is.

Nope. Each computer has its own Software Code generated after you install the program through the setup installer downloadable from its website. The key you're going to pay for will only work once and NOT sharable with other PC/laptop. I'm pretty sure how this works as far as authentication of your purchase goes ...
