Does everyone agree that DAT achiever is a good way to prep for the actual DAT? I know you can download it after you pay for it, but do you have to be online to use the program? My desktop is soo slow so I am planning on downloading the program on my laptop & I dont have DSL rite now. So I was just wondering if i download it on my laptop, can i use the program without having to be connected to the internet?

I just got the same software about 10 days back and found it unique not only for the PAT, but also on other sections especially the SNS and QRT.

Somebody else from SDN gave me the following website and I actually downloaded the software to look at the DEMO before paying for it:

http://www.3tquest.com

I didn't pay much attention whether intenet connection is required when using the program cuz my desktop is DSL connected 24 hours a day. My strong guess is that you'll probably not be needing that since the only time it ever asked me after downloading/installation is the Liberation Key thing to get the software registered via the payment page. 🙂

No internet connection will be required once you got it downloaded/installed & registered. It's like a CD-based program, just that you can have it downloaded instantly instead of waiting for a disc mailed to you.

I got it downloaded within a minute using T1 connection and believe it should not be taking any longer than 40 minutes via a dial-up.

Another option is that if you carry a laptop, make use of the wireless feature as and when you can detect a good signal in a neighborhood having open accesses. If you decide to still get it installed/registered at your desktop for a closer simulated environment to the one at the Prometric Center, simply transfer the setup.zip file there via a flash drive or a burnt CD.

Hope the above info helps.
