DAT advice & chances of acceptance

I am a Texas resident. This will be 3rd time applying and also my 3rd time to take the DAT. I got 2 interviews last cycle with a 17AA, so I feel that the rest of my application is competitive.

QR: 15 :/
RC: 18
BIO: 21
GC: 20
OC: 18
TS: 20
AA: 18
Overall GPA: 3.78
BCPM GPA: 3.81

I plan on contacting the schools to see what they have to say about my scores. Just want to get some feedback on here as well. Thanks!

What did you use for bio ? Was it straight forward?

I used cliffs AP biology, feralis notes, DAT bootcamp, destroyer and went over a couple of chads videos. I also just took A&P and biochem 2 this last year, which I think helped a lot.

I felt like there were very simple questions and very hard questions. Nothing really in the middle, I either knew it or not.

I'm not an expert, but the aa 17 seems a little shaky. It sucks that qr and oc brought your score down )-:

However, if your application is strong (really strong) in other areas then that could help boost your chances. Your science gpa and cum gpa are really good!!!!!!! What are your extracurriculars like?
Also, all your other scores besides oc and qr on the dat are descent! So if you retake then you have to study hard to make sure you don't end up scoring lower in the other sections!


Don't lose hope, and definately call up schools.

The biggest issue is going to be that 15... Did you do as poorly on the QR section the previous times on the DAT? Most schools want to see improvements when you retake the DAT and you didn't they usually aren't that happy

Personally I still feel that you are going to have a difficult time. If the schools see your name for the third time they might just accept you now cuz you keep bugging them. But if you aren't that fortunate your AA and TS may be good enough depending on where you apply. Tell us your schools that you sent scores out to!

Really disappointed with the QR15, it really did some damage to the AA. I have 100+ hours shadowing/volunteer work. I have been volunteering and assisting at a health clinic for the working uninsured for the past two years. I am also an artist, working on various projects on the side, along with continuing my education in upper level sciences (got my bio degree in 2013). Many other extras.. a lot to list, but those are the major ones.

I improved in every section except for QR.
Old: 19/17/17/16/18/16/17/17
New: 23/15/18/21/20/18/20/18
I interviewed at Houston and San Antonio w/ my old scores last cycle.

This cycle I applied to:
Baylor
Houston
San Antonio
LECOM
Midwestern - AZ
ASDOH
MOSDOH
Western

Does anyone know if schools see the complete breakdown of your test scores or just AA, TS, PAT? Also, if you have taken the DAT more than once do they compare old and new scores or only look at the latest?

Your ECs are solid! I haven't looked into those schools so I don't know what they are looking for, but for the ones along the East Coast you would do fine, if that helps at all. And the schools will look at your latest DAT score. If you applied there previously they may still have your old scores on hand, but won't play a factor in the acceptance/interview since the scores are from a different test date.
