I'm freaking out. I have 3 weeks left till exam date. My latest ptest was 19 bio, 19 gchem, 19 ochem, 21 qr, 19 pat, and 22 rc. With PAT I find myself running out of time by the time I have to do 1-30 since I usually skip to 31. It feels like I'm not retaining info for the sciences. I'm planning to go over all the chapters in both chems again and answer the qbanks and just do anki for the booster bio cheat sheets. I easily get affected by my practice scores so I might be over thinking this but it still scares me. I can't push the date back either since I'm going to Flordia for a masters. I've been doing 8-10 hour days except when I go work as a DA 3 days a week where I usually do 5-6 hours on those days. I appreciate any advice.

Since no one has responded yet, I’d like to share my thoughts. Timed tests can often lead to overthinking and stress for many students. Over the years, I’ve had numerous conversations with students experiencing significant anxiety due to these tests. It’s important to remember that timed tests are merely a guideline and, in my opinion, they don’t always accurately reflect your potential score.

Instead of focusing on the timed aspect, take a break and concentrate on strengthening your foundational knowledge. This will be crucial when you take the actual exam. From my experience counseling students for over two decades, the biggest mistake is attempting the exam before feeling fully prepared. Even postponing the test by a week or two can make a substantial difference.

I hope this advice helps, and I wish you the very best on your DAT Exam.

Wishing you the best,

Nancy, co-owner, Destroyers

I understand how challenging this can be, though I didn't use practice tests myself, so I can't offer specific advice on those. However, if you're using the DAT Destroyer, it might be beneficial to focus on that during your final weeks of preparation. It can really help solidify the foundation you need.I'm currently in my first year of dental school, and I managed to achieve a high score and gain admission with a 3.1 GPA. Believe in yourself—you can do it too!

Test day is June 24th. This is my last FL exam I took. I ran out of time with PAT so my score was lower than usual. Although I got an 18 on orgo I reviewed what I got wrong and watched some videos and notes and retook another orgo individual exam and scored a 20. For gen chem I realized I was weak in thermodynamics and redox reactions so I'm focusing on reviewing those chapters. Overall I've been going though my practice exams and constantly reviewing things and doing more practice problems rinsing and repeating. Tomorrow is also my last day of work as a dental assistant so I'll be able to dedicate the weekend and all of next week to studying. Planning 10-12 hours
