Hello everyone I need advice for my third DAT attempt.

I'm too embarrassed to share the full details of my first attempt but I got a 15 (2018). I hardly studied and didn't really use my Bootcamp subscription properly. I had just graduated and was busy looking for a job at that time. I had paid for the exam way in advance and at that point, it was down to the choices of taking it or canceling and losing my money.

My second exam was in August 2020 and I got the following scores with the use of Bootcamp - DAT: 18AA, 18TS, 16BIO, 18GC, 21OC, 20RC, 14QR, 19PAT
I was also working full-time remotely. My biology scores did not change since my first time and I am really worried about it. I think my issue was that I was memorizing more than really understanding the concepts. I ran out of time to study for math and started to give up on that section.

For this third time, I have reduced my work hours to 16, bought a 2019 Math Destroyer book and the 2018 Destroyer. Now I'm debating between using Booster or Iprep. Any opinions or advice on which program to use would be helpful.

Thank you!🙂

I used destroyer and booster while taking a full course load and working. I got up early and studied then did school and studied more after. It’s one of those things, you have to put in the time regardless of what materials you use. Booster and destroyer were wonderful resources and were all I needed. Just put in the work, do lots of practice problems, understand the questions you’ve missed and continue working on the concepts you struggle with. Goodluck!

My best advice is to learn what you did wrong from the first two attempts. Understanding the fundamental concepts is crucial to doing well. If you don't mind me asking, for your second attempt were you working part-time while you were preparing? And how long did you prepare for?

For resources, I would say Booster and Destroyer are your best bet. Both are really good resources and I haven't heard anyone score poorly using those 2 resources together but that doesn't mean it's an automatic ticket to beating the DAT. You have to put in the work at the end of the day. Best of luck!

I agree with the other posters. To add to what they said, if this is your third attempt... I seriously consider further cutting the 16 hour work hours and dedicate 100% to the DAT.
