Here one for all you who just took the DAT already,

I'm currently just studying the big red kaplan book. Considering i want to get 21+ my DAT, is there any sections (ie bio, chem, etc) that isn't covered completely in the kaplan book that i might want to look into other books as well.

thanks

don't rely on the kap book for bio. do a search on pre-dental with keyword DAT and you will find tons of post abt what books/resources to use.
best of lcuk. and don't sweat it if you don't get 21+....d-school admissions is not abt numbers.

One thing that surprised me about my DAT was the amount of invertebrate zoology on the biology section. Maybe 8-10 question touched the field in some fashion. Don't freak out about it (I got a 19 bio despite not even having invert yet when I took the DAT), but it's something to make sure you take a look at.

So besides bio the kaplan book thouroughly covers all the other sections on the DAT right??? WHat do you guys think about using the AP test cliffnotes on Bio to study for that section?

My DAT preparation for what it's worth.

I just said screw organic - never looked at it didn't waste my time (I scored 14).

I did get TopScore and completed two of the three practice tests. I wrote all the correct answers down and used that as a study guide. I spent two weeks over Christmas Break studying Top Score and Cliffs Quick Review on Bio., Chem., and some kind of Math. Three days before I took it, I completed the third test section of Top Score pretending like it was the real DAT. My scores on it were almost identical to my real DAT. I made over 20 on everything besides organic. So two weeks of studying with about $40 of study aids and I ended up with the coveted 20 AA in spite of my horrible Organic score.
