My question is lets just say application cycle for 2006 starts may 16 . And i turn it in on may 16.
1) Will it slow my application process down if i haven't taken DAT's yet? Some people on SDN say you can apply and not have the DAT done and take it a month or two after you've sent in your application, and still not lose any time or slow the process down.

2) So when is the latest I can take the DAT and still be really really early in the cycle? Hope my question makes sense

Thanks a lot

I wish I had done that. I didn't send my aadsas until august 30th, the day I took my DAT. If I could do it all over again, I would of sent it in June, and then taken the DAT in late july. But yes, in short, I don't see a problem with you doing that. Just make sure to call the school and let them know what you are doing. Finally after you take the DAT, call all the schools and give them a friendly reminder about all the 20's you got on your DAT 😉.

Submit your application if it's ready to go on May 16, even if you haven't taken the DAT yet. It takes AADSAS about a month and a half to process them and send them out to schools, so it pays to get your app in as early as possible

Most schools don't start reviewing applications until August, so I tink a resonable time to take the DAT would be mid July. DAT scores are sent to the schools rather quickly compared to your AADSAAS application... they would be there in time.

Like lunguv said, be sure to call or email the schools and ask them if they would like for you to fax them your unofficial score report that you get immediately after you take the exam.

Good luck. Seems like you're already ahead of the game.

AADSAS will accept your application around May 16th, but they will not process it until June 1st. It takes them at least four weeks to turn your application around. In my opinion you could take your DAT towards the end of June or during the first part of July and still be uber early as it is around this time frame that schools will receive your application.

Awesome information, thanks a lot.

I took my DAT on Sept. 18th and still received plenty of interviews, however I applied early June... best thing I ever did.
